Collective Weddings

After posting Jake and Hannah's pictures, I thought I would do one post with all three brothers at their weddings. Enjoy.

Jake's Married!

By now most of you know that Jake and Hannah got married back in July of this year. I have neglected this site for a little while now that I have been sent out to Iraq once again. I am going to attempt to post up some recent pictures. And if you want more wedding pictures you can check them out on my Picnik site. For those of you who don't have access to that site, let me know and I will give you permissions. I also have several on Facebook.

Pepsi Cola Birthplace

Here are some pictures of our trip to New Bern, NC to visit the birthplace of Pepsi Cola. We sampled the drinks and got to see some of the older versions of the bottles that were used. It was nothing like the World of Coca Cola in Atlanta but more of geared toward the historical aspect of the location. The downtown area was pretty nice with lots of shops to visit.

Bike Rodeo!

Today Matthew and Megan participated in a bicycle rodeo at the base. The kids took their bicycles and had them inspected for proper operation and then listened to a short period of instruction on rules oft the road for bicycles. They then had to perform all the correct signals as they navigated through the obstacle course. At the end they received a certificate and an ice cream sandwich and gift bag with water bottle and safety equipment. Shortly after the rodeo we went inside and was read a book by The Cat In The Hat.

Hitting the Bike Trails

The day started out cloudy and raining but by noon the sun was out drying it all up. Since it was such a wonderful looking day outside we decided to venture out. Today we embarked on our first family outing with the bicycles. We rode for about and hour and a half. Matthew did very well with his new found skills of riding. Megan rode in the Burley bicycle trailer. Holly rode point for us to make sure no traffic was coming at the intersections. The base has a great deal of bike trails so we didn't have to ride on the streets for the most part. We all had a good time and hope to make it a weekly Sunday adventure.

New Family Activity

Well the whole family went out and purchased bicycles for our new family activity. Matthew chose a gray Huffy and plans on painting some symbols on hit to customize it. Megan chose a "Sea Star" with training wheels. This is her first bike and she has not fear riding it. She can ride like the wind but has yet to have the desire to learn how to brake. Holly is enjoying her beach cruiser painted in pink with flowers. I love the lime green color of my ride and have already taken it out to the mud hole to see how it would perform......worked great. Until now Matthew hadn't learned how to ride without training wheels so we have spent an hour a day for the past three days helping him ride this one that didn't even come with the training wheel option. As of today is is up and riding without any problems. He is currently working on how to take off on a grade. More pictures to come as he progresses.
